A Wash and an Offer March 16, 2008

Hello,

Just a few updates:

1.) On Tuesday my loctician washed my hair and re-locked my locks that had gotten loose. My first retightening will be abotu 4 weeks from now. I have also began to wrap my hair differently. Instead of tightening the scarf in the back, I am tightening it in the front. Like I am putting the scarf on from behind. I feel that is better from my edges because it holds my locks tighter and so far I have had very little problems, compared to the first two weeks where alot of my back and front became loose. Also I have STOPPED picking in my hair, well at least the edges. The middle of my hair holds well, but again it’s my edges that I am suppose to be careful about so I have tried my hardest to not pick at them.

2.) Yesterday I had this man approach me about my sisterlocks. I am familiar with this man because he works at a barbershop down the street. Basically he tried to turn on his hustle and offered to lock me up the traditional way. He was really forward about it, and once I pretty much dismissed his offer he seemed to have dismissed me all together. Like he knew that I wasn’t budging so his attitude went from ‘hustle’ to ‘whatever’. lol. I have been reading about people’s experiences with people who claim to do locks and have offered them some sort of deal, trying to knock sisterlocks. Wow, i had my moment.

I don’t think that these people really understand the commitment that people may have to sisterlocks. I don’t know any other sisterlocks sisters but I am just speaking from my own experience— I spent 500 bucks for these, so trust me I know what I am getting into! I know what I want! I know what I am going to have to spend in the future (which is not bad at all)!

Silly!
